EP197: Incest House of Nightmares: Aziza Kibibi

When Aziza Kibibi was eight years old, her biological father Aswad Ayinde, an award-winning video director working with artists like Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean, began abusing her. By the time Aziza was twelve, her father had subjected her to years of abuse and treated her as his property; and by fifteen, Aziza had become a mother to her father’s children. Everything Aswad claimed to be - educator, protector, husband, father, even a conduit to God - was a fiction sustained by fear. And the home he built to supposedly shield his children from the dangers of the outside world would become the most dangerous place they would ever know… TRIGGER WARNING: Please note that this case involves child abuse, incest, sexual violence, domestic violence, and reproductive abuse.
