I enjoy learning and I consider myself a fast learner. - 因為今天是你第一天上班，我想再詳細說明一下好了。 - 謝謝。我是個樂於學習的人，而且也學得滿快的。 小常識 一般企業的新進員工，通常不能立刻開始正常業務，要先接受一段時間的訓練(training period)，或是所謂的試用期(trial period)，比較難的講法是probation。但 主管級的人物，可就沒有這樣的適應期，所以許多新進主管就會採用色厲內荏的「新官上任三把火」方法立威，讓比他/她資深的下屬不敢耍老鳥。有些人則採取低姿態(keep a low profile)，虛心求教，也是一種方法。 大補帖 on the job是「在工作方面」的意思，在這裡實際上是指on the job training(在職訓練)，這是新進員工在試用期會接受 的訓練。job是work，occupation(工作，職業)的通俗說法。讚美人家「幹得好!」的時候，可以說Great job!。 跟job有關的例句如下: Job-hopping is far more common in the States than in Japan. (美國人跳槽的風氣比日本普遍得多。) This is an easy job. (這件事太簡單了。) Ted Winston's been out of job for a month already. (泰德·溫斯頓已經失業一個月了。) Joblessness is the number one problem among young American Blacks.
